Board of Directors

Our members are the beating heart of our organization. And we’re on a mission to support each and every one of them with resources, guidance, and training so they can address risk before incidents occur.

MMRMA was created in 1980 pursuant to the laws of the State of Michigan, under which members enter into a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA). As such, MMRMA has been member-governed since its inception.

A ten-person Board of Directors is elected of—and by—the membership. They regularly evaluate and update MMRMA’s comprehensive Governance Manual to ensure that the organization is compliant with its guiding documents and that those documents are current and applicable to the evolving landscape of public entity risk pooling.

The Board of Directors also holds ongoing strategic planning discussions to develop and track its long-term priorities.

In order to benefit from MMRMA's cutting edge risk control services, you must be an MMRMA member. Consultations may be done via phone or video conference. They may also include onsite visits in limited circumstances, when necessary, with appropriate protocols to avoid the spread of COVID-19 as directed by state and public health guidance and as required by MMRMA and the member entity.
