Seeking Candidates for MMRMA Risk Control Advisory Committees
MMRMA is seeking qualified candidates for several of our Risk Control Advisory Committees.
Participation on an MMRMA committee provides an opportunity to meet with a network of peers while furthering one’s professional development and helping your fellow member public entities across Michigan.
Criteria and Meeting Details
Risk Control Advisory Committees are comprised of individuals with specialized expertise in those areas that represent loss exposures to member municipalities. The committees help MMRMA develop risk control resources including model policies and procedures, educational material, publications and electronic media, and education and training programs.
Committee members must be employees or officials of MMRMA member entities. Interested individuals are encouraged to consult with their entity’s assigned MMRMA Member Representative to ensure the entity’s support for appointment to an advisory committee. The corresponding committee chairperson will make recommendations of qualified candidates to the Board of Directors. If appointed by the Board Chairman, committee members will serve out the remainder of the vacant three-year term and may be eligible for reappointment to additional terms. Upon appointment, we will inform the Member Representative for the appointee’s member entity.
Meetings are held throughout the year and take place at various locations around the state or remotely.
Vacancies
MMRMA’s Risk Control Consultants are assigned to serve as liaisons to our Risk Control Advisory Committees. Vacancies often arise due to committee member retirements or job/employer changes. Member employees with experience and expertise in one of the corresponding functional areas are encouraged to reach out to MMRMA to inquire about vacancies and express interest:
